S.F. Jude Terror wrote:I don't get all this Cyclops hate, I'm far more concerned about the fascist undertones of Captain America (the same fascist undertones that have stained Tony Stark's character since Civil War). But Avengers apologists just sweep this under the rug.

Cap at his worst made some stupid decisions such as treating the X-teams like war-criminals by assuming they would follow Cyclop's stupid hunch and not talking to Scott one on one before coming to Utopia with the Avengers. If he were smart, he would be asking Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, etc to help the Avengers in stopping the Phoenix as both teams go way back. None of that is comparable to Cyclops willing to endanger the entire world on a unreliable hunch that a entity-with a history of genocide-will restore his race.

It's too late now. That train left the station a long time ago. Outside of the apologists, it'll take Marvel another five years to somehow redeem/erase the NuMagneto that he's become.

They could always use the Void explanation on how part of it influences his recent thinking.

It's very simple actually. Cyclops has been taken over by so many villains in the last few years (Apocalypse, Emma, Magneto, The Phoenix) that it's easily explained that one has been manipulating him the last few years.

Don't forget the Void seeping into his sub-consciousness-although I doubt anyone remembers that story.
