Can we all agree that if it's not mentioned in the main series, it shouldn't be mentioned at all?

The threatening dialogue, most notable: "evolving tomorrow itself, beyond anything you've ever imagined". Obviously Cap saw this as a threat.

Also, with Cyke's hatred for humans, the Phoenix is not in benevolent hands

Hatred of humans? If I'm strange, you're retarded.

Where did factoid come from?

"I'm trying to save my race. You're trying to snuff us all out." - Cyclops

Sounds nuts to me. Does he really think Captain America is trying to snuff out mutants? Somebody better tell Beast and Wolverine and Quiksilver that the Avengers are trying to wipe out mutants.

The Inhuman Mutant Beyonder will make you forget that retcon existed when he returns in this mini.

According to solicits of issues 9-10:

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Their numbers dwindling, the Avengers stage a raid on the X-Men's prison to rescue their captive members.

Alliances begin to change as the nature of the Phoenix becomes apparent!

Sounds to me like the Avengers and X-Men will fight the Phoenix together at the end. :smt102

Well in the case of Beast, that is 100% accurate. At this point I am convinced that the Beast would argue that the sky is blue, if Scott said it were so. In Quicksilver's case, he is partially responsible for House of M, so you can't trust him. Finally in Wolverine's case, he is just as obsessed with the Phoenix as people say Scott is, only Wolverine is obsessed because he didn't get to stab it the first time and nobody stands between Wolverine and a stabbin'!

I think since Captain America is trying to stop the mutant rebirth from Cyke's point of view that it's really not that outlandish of a claim.

If Cap was actually successful wouldn't the mutant race cease to exist in a few years?

Well I'm definetely not "retarded", but between him creating a militant mutant commune full of supervillains and declaring it a nation, and him trying to sacrifice the world to restart the mutant race, he at the very least has a dislike or even distrust of humans in general. I shouldn't have said "hate", but he would sacrifice any number of humans to get his way.

but if you really think about it, there's no real reason to join Scott in the first place besides out of loyalty.

I think the end of this leads to Scott out as X-Men leader and mutants more isolated than ever.
