Marvel plans to have more heroes hit each other this April!

Marvel announced today that next summer's event will focus on the Avengers fighting the X-Men over Hope Summers. Marvel announced that the Phoenix force, last seen killing Terrax the Tamer in Point One, will be heading to Earth in search of a host. Cyclops, Wolverine and the rest of X-Men, having experience with celestial forces possessing redheads, are hoping to prepare and protect Hope Summers, who they believe will end up hosting the Phoenix. However, Captain America and Iron Man want to make vague "hand her over to us"-esque plans to protect the world from getting eaten. The series, which will involve Great One Brian Bendis, Matt Fraction, Jason Aaron, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, Olivier Coipel, John Romita Jr., and a Kubert, will be bi-weekly and run for twelve issues starting in April, with a zero issue being released in March.

The last time the X-Men and the Avengers entered into a philosophical discussion about the fate of a mutant, the mutant race was decimated and eventually forced them to abandon their home in Westchester. The Outhouse hopes that this event will force Wolverine and Cyclops to remove the respective sticks up their asses and use them to beat Captain America, who still doesn't know what a Myspace is.

It'll be interesting to see how they pull this off, because Bendis has been cherry picking all the X-men to generate more interest in the Avengers.

I hope the Avengers don't come off like dicks like Tony and his guys did in Civil War.

Marvel seems to be very good at making their heroes be assholes to each other when the story needs them to be.

Yeah its not very heroes vs villains when heroes fight heroes. I can see what they want to do, but they need better direction.

well it would be Heroes vs. Villains if its the Avengers vs. Cyclops' side since Magneto, Juggernaut/Colossus, Emma, Magik, Namor and Danger ARE on that side.

As opposed to Red Hulk (former villain), Hawkeye (former villain), Black Widow (former villain) and Beast (obnoxious douche who mind as well be a villain).

Both sides are littered with villains.

Considering the Avengers haven't ever given a shit about what happens to mutants, and they are staffed with people just as bad as the more morally grey members of the X-men, it seems like this has been a long time coming.
