Is he finished the event or is there 1 more artist on the last issue?

I thought the comic was good, but the problem was the art. It's not that Coipel doesn't draw well, it's that it was bad storytelling IMO. Panels were all over the place and there were times I couldn't tell what order to read. I also couldn't tell what was happening in some of the fight scenes.

The fight is taking place in Cyclops' mind, so I guess it was supposed to be reflective of his state of mind or something. I agree about it being difficult to tell what order to read the panels. Some of these pages should have had what Tom Brevoort calls the "arrow of shame" so we'd know how to read them. :P

I'd love to see the script for this issue, just to see how much leeway Coipel had in drawing these scenes.

I liked the one two page spread that had Luke Cage prominently featured - wanna bet that was in Bendis' script? :groucho:

So why didn't Hope do any thing this entire issue? In issue 10 and the infinite issue, "she is the plan". They should have had the Hulk fastball special her jail-bait ass at Cyclops the second Cyclops got free of Doctor Strange. Chaos-Fist with a knockout wish. Repeat with Emma while she is sucking up Cyclops' half of the Pheonix Force and the party is over.

Re: "Avengers Vs X-Men" #11: no. Tediously told, tiredly depicted, the "death" here has as much chance of being permanent as Marvel has of hiring a Black writer (now celebrating three years free of Black writing) and overall this overwrought crossover has worn out its less-than-warm welcome. Oh, and if you read "Uncanny X-Men" #18, you'll see how twisted, messed up and not cool events in this issue really are. And if Hope really did draw the Phoenix Force back to Earth (notice how everybody forgot her, and the devastation of K'un-Lun and Wakanda?), you do know that means Bishop was right, right?

It seems like it's Xavier's role to show up for events, such as this and Messiah Complex, and then get killed off.

Also, considering this isn't the last issue, the easy money is on the Phoenix has been corrupting Cyclops from the start and doing a much better job at it than the other characters or Xavier ain't dead. Or Magneto eats it too.

Just something else to emotionally spur the Original X-Men when they get to the present.

This felt like a padded issue that could have been done in a two pages or three at most. :smt102

Yes - mainly believing that the Phoenix was good, despite all evidence to the contrary, including personal experience with it.

And everyone else involved was pretty douchey and stupid, too

Yeah, but everyone else also being dicks does not absolve Cyclops of it. He's kind of the focal point of the whole event.

I agree, everyone's actions were their own decisions, but they were reactions to other people.

Yeah. But this all started because Cyclops thought the Phoenix was a force for good. What was he smoking?

Everything else spiraled out of that decision.
