Because peace under an iron fist and threats isn't worth it.

The X-Men are the real fascists here.

Where have we seen them force anyone to do anything?

All I've seen is them being repeatedly attacked by the Avengers.

Also the two smartest Avengers: Hank and T'Challa have major reservations regarding whether the Avengers should be doing anything at all.

Wanda experiencing visions was the most interesting new twist in this issue.

The X-Men are taking away choice and free will. I don't see a shift in who the villain is at all. If anything, Xavier reinforces it with his talk with Scott. The X-Men may have noble intentions (which will change) but you can't force people to change like this. They've made the world a police state and they are big brother.

What is AvX Infinite?

I didn't like this as much as the first 5 issues. One of the things I noticed is that the first 5 issues were great and accessible for any new readers that may have shown up. Issue 6 brought in things that are not like the Iron Fist and Scarlet Witch stuff.

Namor vs those battleships somewhere and Magik & Colossus throwing entire ecoystems out of balance.

And Cyclops is still a massive dick.

What this is is a military coup.

To Godwin all this, Nazi Germany had very low crime rates under Hitler's rule. The same thing happened during the military coup in Greece. The crimes committed were mostly by the resistance (like the Avengers).

So the X-Men have stopped crime on a global scale, but they have taken away people's privacy and freedom.

That's the Orwellian attitude of these Avengers supporters, they want perpetual war.

Negative - we want an end to war, but it needs to be natural and not forced on us. Just because Cydick says no more war doesn't make Israel and Iran friends, the aggression and hate remain (unless Emma mind-wiped everyone, in which case there goes that free will thing again).

I thought this issue, and particularly the Infinite addition did a good job of painting Cyclops in a sympathetic light. Captain America and the Avengers being cahoots with NPWFBH seals the deal on Cap's fascism, as we haven't had a President more concerned with destroying freedom and liberty since, well okay since Bush, but both are pretty bad, and Cap fits right in with their mindset that they know what is best for everyone and they will force everyone to see things their way regardless of whether they have the actual constitutional authority to do so.

I'm sure this will end tragically for the X-Men, and I hope Cap learns a lesson from this.
