Iron Man wins only because Magneto held back and was distracted by feeling the Phoenix destroy a planet. During free fall he pleads to Tony to find Wanda due to the approaching threat of the Phoenix. Wait a second.. Magneto is acting heroic and Cyclops is acting more like his late 90s self? We're truly through the looking glass people!!

Thing wins even with fighting Namor in the sea. I cry foul.

The Magneto/Iron Man story is really the only reason to read this given it hints that Magneto might be switching to the Avenger side given he see's the Phoenix as a threat than hope. ... Wait a second Magneto as a Avenger?! :lol:

My shop didn't get any of these comics at all today, and I am going out of town this weekend and can stop by another shop. Should I take the time to pick this book up or is it not worth it?

Doesn't Namor just have to hang out and breathe underwater[url][/url]? Can Thing even swim, because he's so heavy? Doesn't Namor get stronger in the water while Thing has to struggle to stay afloat?

Based on all the fights that got started and never resolved on panel in AvX #2 I thought there would be more than just these two fights in this issue. I really wanted to see the Doctor Strange VS Magic in Limbo fight. Issue 2 of this series looks like a fight that is starting in issue 3 of AvX, so I guess we won't get to see that fight play out. :-(

Otherwise, like the Ironman vs Magneto fight. Disapointed in the Thing VS Namor fight. Especially since it was Luke Cage helping Thing in AvX 2 and not a giant fish. :roll:

Part of me was looking forward to this series more than the main one, but after this issue, that's all changed. Here are my 3 main problems:

1) STFU. Goddamn was there too much dialogue and inner monologue. And most of it was fucking stupid. Magneto counted 2 million of Stark's weapons? Stark using the power of Jupiter and Magneto remembers it well? Thing's "jokes". Terrible dialogue throughout.

2) AvX Fun Facts. Aaron's captions in issue #2 were hit or miss. These were fucking stupid and failed at being clever at all.

3) Thing vs. Namor. Not only is it dumb that Thing wins in water, but all of it was just dumb. Thing skating down on a piece of metal? Namor getting hit after he used the monster fish to hit Ben with? Thing being fast enough to hit Namor with the coins underwater? Just fucking dumb. So was Magneto just stopping, but whatever.

Terrible book that I was really looking forward to. This was just the wrong creative team.
