the moment I knew Jean was in real trouble. I reread this several times when I bought the issue.

I have to admit I'm not really a fan of Miller's work in Batman. About the only thing I ever enjoyed has been this moment. Nothing more:

During the Clone Saga, Macendale and some other mercs got some high tech upgrades via Gaunt aka Mendal Stromm. Macendale killed the mercs when they couldn't beat Ben Reilly Spidey and not soon after owned by Ben himself.
Here's a pic of Macendale in his full cybernetic goblin gear:
And in tha single panel thus summarizes Roddy's entire distain for Macendale in ruining the Hobgoblin name.

Ah. I don't know why but I've always liked Macendale. Being that he was a Hobgoblin, a Jack O'Lantern, and a Mysterio, he would be an awesome villain to use.

Um he was never Mysterio only a Hobgoblin and Jack O'Lantern.
