I heard that Dan and the gang gathered up every copy of Gail's batgirl they had on hand, burned them, swept the ashes up into a coffee jar, urinated on that can, and then sent a picture of that can to her via e-mail. Those dastardly no do gooders.

I'm honestly torn between "I would have fired Gail for him too" and "wow, what a waste of his talent."

In any case, maybe I'll actually read two issues of Batgirl now.

Others probably will too. Publicity, good or bad, is still publicity. Also factor in that despite the poor handling of replacing Gail, there have been fans ( even some here  ) that have bashed this title since issue #1 because they didn't like Gail's writing of Barbara. A new Writer may attract new and returning readers.

This is the thing: I have no problem with writers being replaced on books, and I wasn't a big fan of Gail's run on this title. I just think it was handled badly and unprofessionally, and it seems DC is doing that a lot these days.

Still not going to buy Fawkes' run, mind.
