According to Judd Winick, in Trials of Shazam, the soon-to-be-released mini-series with art from Howard Porter, Captain Marvel is now going to be Freddy Freeman a.k.a. Captain Marvel Jr. (or CM3 for short). Also, the previous Captain Marvel, Billy Batson, will be the equivant of the Wizard Shazam except relatively stay the same (so no Billy batson with hair coming out of his ears).

Winick says that Trials of Shazam will be “one part Neil Gaiman and one part Alan Moore” and “closer to James Robinson’s take on Starman.”
