Last year I checked out from the library the first "album", pretty much at random. And I thought it was incredible. Bendis, Brubaker, etc... wish they could write a noir crime story half as good as this.

Dark Horse just published a HC with all of the material that's been done so far (I think). I recommend checking it out. I bet at least a few people on here have read this, and will back me up.

I am on the third story right now. It is amazing. What is really interesting is the insight into the reality that is America from outside.

Heartbreaking, thrilling and absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

(ELI if you haven't read this yet, it should go to the top of your pile)

Got your back.

Blacksad is among the best illustrated comic books ever, and the story and characters are really cool.

At $30 for all Blacksad books that's a steal!

Yep, Blacksad is awesome. Like Disney meets Dashiell Hammet. I bought the HC because the third story never made it to America. Worth every penny.

Awesome :-D

I own the 3 original issues on all their french hardcover glory, but the idea of having them all on a single book sounds REALLY tempting to me.

Yes! Blacksad volume 5: Amarillo is coming out! Hopefully the English translation will be coming quickly.

‘John Blacksad is tired of all the violence and misery around him, so he decides to take his time before returning home. Luck seems to smile on him when a stranger hires him to deliver his car, a brand new Cadillac Eldorado model, from New Orleans to Tulsa. But the south roads are as dusty as they are unpredictable, and Blacksad unwittingly finds himself driving from one end of the US to another, in order to solve a murder involving biker parades, lawyers, writers and even a bloody circus!’
