It's more like they took scissors to the thing and then shipped it out.

Nice job, Marvel. :smt011

My box just arrived:

Amazing Spider-Man #697 & #698
Daredevil #20
Indestructible Hulk #1
Uncanny Avengers #2
Animal Man #14
Batman #14
Batman Incorporated #5
Batwoman #14
Detective Comics #14
Dail H #6
Earth 2 #6
I, Vampire #14
Justice League Dark #14
Swamp Thing #14
Worlds' Finest #6
Fairest #9
The Hypernaturals #5
Judge Dredd #1

I'm a little annoyed that Fantastic Four and FF were not in this batch, as I've really been looking forward to reading them. I hope the place I buy my comics from hasn't screwed up my list.

This is my last issue of Dial H. It's odd: I see that it has potential, but it just hasn't grabbed me at all.

I have - I'll probably hear back tomorrow. On the plus side, IDW's Dredd book isn't on my pull, but he threw it in as a freebie. It has a variant cover with the retailer's name printed on the front of a door that Dredd is kicking down.

I stopped after #4

I wanted to like it but it just felt very flat to me.

I think the writer has a great concept for the book but I don't think he really writes comics well. I'm sure the guy is a terrific prose writer, but comics are very different. It felt like old issues of Spawn at times.

Does anybody else think the quality of Marvel books has dropped sharply lately?

I don't mean quality in terms of content. I mean in terms of the actual physical book. Like the kind of paper they're using now. They feel very flimsy to me all of a sudden. I normally wouldn't care too much, but at $4 a pop I feel a little ripped off.

Got my box yesterday. It was supposed to come on the 24th but my office was closed so it couldn't be delivered. (I have my BOCs shipped to work, where someone is there to sign for it.)

It was my smallest box ever. Basically just the 4 Valiant titles plus the second free Cyberforce issue (I stopped getting them--first one wasn't very interesting and I feel guilty taking them when I don't enjoy it). I AM enjoying the Valiant books, however. Read Shadowman 2 and Archer & Armstrong 5 and both were absolutely fantastic. These guys are doing a great job with these characters. Unlike what you typically see with Marvel and DC, these guys are good shepherds for my favorite characters. No gimicks, just good stories with characters staying true to the cores of what makes them compelling. Yeah, they're a little decompressed but that's a small price for the quality I'm getting.

I got a box. About as thick as an omnibus book, but still a box. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to post here, would I?
