If I'm reading them regularly, each month should last a month. But reading regularly has not been my thing lately. I go through my fits and spurts.
I just read yesterday the Muse HC from Humanoids. Absolutely gorgeous work from Terry Dodson and was surprised by how much I liked the story.
Give you another perfect example of how bad this is: Need to go get Star Trek: Into Darkness on Blu Ray today. Never saw the movie in the theater (which is a whole other rant on how bad I am) so I'm DYING to get this and watch it tonight. Now for the comics, I'm still in the middle of the "Crew Origins" arc in the regular book and issue #3 of the Before Darkness prequel tie in mini so if I was reading any faster, I'd have possibly started reading the Trek comic that is now taking place after the movie and conceivably ruining the whole thing for me (not that the actual solicit of the upcoming Kahn mini didn't do that for me already!)
Hell, I was commenting to a friend last night who stopped over how I was waiting to see Fast & Furious 6 on Blu since I didn't see it in the theaters and upset that so far it didn't look like Gina Carrano wasn't going to be in the movie. Next thing she says to me is "Well yeah, she betrayed them." and I went "THANKS, YOU KNOW I HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!"

I really enjoyed Start Trek, both movies have been pretty good.
I had no idea you were reading IDW's Star Trek, but of course, with hundreds of comics a month it makes perfect sense.
Meanwhile, here are my latest acquisitions.

Good to know we have a few books in common.
My memory is not as good as it used to be, and your list is too long to memorize!
by Midas » Sat Sep 14, 2013 12:40 pm
If you read comics, I posit it's pretty hard not to have at least a few books in common with Evan.

GOSD needs to post here more often. I can't be the only one just buying everything in the store dammit!
by Arion » Sat Sep 14, 2013 7:52 pm
Exactly. Even if I only bought 1 or 2 titles...
by GOSD » Tue Sep 17, 2013 12:37 pm
I'm at 104 titles a month.

I just read the first GI Joe trade of the Fred Van Lente run (Homefront, I think). I thought it was very, very well done. It had an exciting plot but what really made it shine was the character development. These characters were definitely not one-dimensional. I liked this a lot better than the Chuck Dixon reboot. That makes me worried about Special Missions but I'll be getting that this month so we'll see.
I also really liked the explanations for the existence of GI Joe and Cobra and the codenames/costumes. Hard to understand why a military unit otherwise would have such non-uniform gear. Maybe this has been done or said before but it was the first time I could remember it.
by Arion » Tue Sep 17, 2013 2:54 pm
That's what I get in 4 or 5 months.
by GOSD » Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:09 pm
That's a good thing.
Evan and I have a sickness.
by Arion » Wed Sep 18, 2013 3:42 pm
If that's the case I wish I could be that sick.
by Evan Meadow » Wed Sep 18, 2013 5:25 pm
Yet he's still married. So the fact that he still gets away with it with a wife and kids is a bigger deal.
by Midas » Wed Sep 18, 2013 8:58 pmHe's the man! My wife has *edit* encouraged me to curtail my reading and purchasing habit now that we have children...
