C2E2: X-Factor Confirmed Canceled

The cancelation was confirmed at Marvel's X-Men panel today at C2E2.

Source: Bleeding Cool

At the X-Men panel at C2E2 today, Marvel confirmed the cancelation of Peter David's X-Factor. The book has always had a very solid core fanbase, but hasn't performed spectacularly above that for most of its run. In our best Rich Johnston impersonation, we should point out that we were the first to predict this, not only back in March, but also in August 2009. And let us tell you, it's not easy being this smart, handsome, and right all the time. It's a curse.

Hopefully, the book will simply be relaunched in some form as part of another wave of Marvel NOW! books. X-Factor has consistently been one of if not the most interesting X-Books on the stands, and carried the franchise, quality-wise, through some pretty dark years. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

Dammit. Here's hoping for a relaunch. I hate that kind of crap, but this is a title I hate to see end. Wonder if PAD's health is a factor.

Yeah, Marvel's 'cancellations' really seem to just be an excuse to renumber most of the time.

they had video from him at the panel, and he said it wasn't.. it was decided BEFORE he had his stroke that this would be the last arc, and that he had something else coming from Marvel that hasn't been announced yet

The video of Peter David stating the need to cancel X-Factor was utterly adorable yet hilarious.

If it ain't X-Factor (bummer!) then it better be Spidey 2099!

I see. So this decision caused his stroke? That's just evil, Marvel. :smt011

I was surprised that they had not relaunched this with a new #1 with the start of Marvel Now.

Maybe it was the though of working on DC's 52 that caused the stroke? Gotta make a paycheck and all but...
