Zechs interviews Andrew Gaska writer of "Critical Millennium The Dark Frontier", "SPACE:1999", "Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes", and teases us what's in store for his upcoming project "Buck Rogers".
At C2E2, Outhouse Ace Reporter Zechs got Andrew Gaska for sixteen minutes of his time. Why so long? Well, there's an interesting stories in the interview where Gaska has on how he got comic book legend Jim Steranko to draw the cover to his prowse work Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes (avaiable via Amazon.) Not only that, but the additional journey he and another had to get the original artwork to be scanned and to be used for the cover of the book. There's no point of me quoting the stories. You're just going to have to listen to it at the 8:30 mark.
Gaska also talks on he got the book to be published by going to his publisher pitching, "It's not really comics. It's like that Aliens: Tribe book that came from Dark Horse." Which just so happened said editor loved that book leading to Gaska coming to the realization, "Great I gotta work on a prowse book."
When not working on various adaptions of science fiction properties, Gaska has his own independant work, Critical Millennium: The Dark Frontier which is aviable at Amazon and Comixlogy, which he talked about near 12:00 mark. As for a sequel to the original work Gaska said "the work is on hiatus for the moment.Probably 2015 before you see the next one."
As for his actual next project: is a comic adaptation of the late 70s early 80s television series: Buck Rogers, Gaska revealed that not only will there would be a comic but an audio drama as well with the remaining cast reprising their roles for it. Asked if he himself would have a small role in the radio drama Gaska teased about himself, "We want some quality here," even under the grand temptation of working or voicing next to Buck Rogers himself, Gil Gerard. Still he admited at the end, "It is a fun idea." So keep glued when you're listening to see if Gaska does cameo in the audio drama.
