Took a peek at it, and yeah, it was pretty strong for an introductory issue. But as I'm making the switch to almost all trades, I'm not sure if this storyline is gonna make the cut.

I'm a sucker for a good Kang story, so this better be a good one.

Gotta say, after the preview for Secret Avengers #1, this book may go on my buy list instead of SA.

Bendis over Brubaker? Madness. But I'd rather read about time travel and alternate futures than an espionage book, and the preview looked good art-wise but the writing failed to grab me at all, especially Super Soldier Steve apparently using Valkyrie on an undercover mission when she blew their cover and has no training in this field. Given all the 616 characters he could have chosen instead, it just seems like a dumb move.

I haven't read 30 Days of Night, but I loved Simon Dark and City of Dust.

Avengers #1

An intersesting issue. It was neat how Loki made Rick Jone's message miss the Fantastic Four and get picked up by the others.

It was really cool when Iron Man battled the Hulk in Detroit and having Thor in it was super.

I had no idea Ant-Man was so heroic. Compared to the others it's easy to see that no matter how small he is he'll stand equal with the others.

The Wasp didn't do much but she did give the team thier name which was fab.

The writing was kind of corny but Jack Kirby should be called King Kirby for his excellent art.

Marvel Comics may have something here.
