X-Men Forever Annual #1

I was surprised the last time we reviewed this how much I actually enjoyed the issue. This time, not so much. Not a fan of the art which in my mind borders dangerously close to manga at times.

The plot seems horribly weak with little explantation of how Logan and Jean are really able to escape the danger they are in. I cringed several times at the dialogue and for a brief moment wondered if all 1980's dialogue was that hokey.

I was very dissapointed since I enjoyed the last issue I read. Though everyone has an off issue now and then.

Story: 5
Art: 3
My Score: 4.5

I still owe the group a S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 review. My shop didn't have Kill Shakespeare.

I'll have to see if the shop still has this one. If they do, I'll review it.

RED and BOLD will be deleted at the end of the week unless a review or explanation is posted.

Here's my explanation: I'm not a member of the group. :P

Siege: Secret Warriors is my pick for next week. Skipping this week because....

-It's catch up week for me

And

-I finished reading the second X-Men Forever trade. I've had enough of that series, for a while. Sorry Jude. :P

When the solicit says "Nick Fury's plans will be revealed", is that just for Siege or for the whole series? :?

I'm already thinking of something for two weeks from now hehehe. Brightest Day? War of the Supermen? Titans?

The Deathstroke series? I can see that being a nice pick.

I have a surprise in store for Brightest Day, so while it is not off the table per se, I would like it if it were a different book that week.

Yeah, that's the one. It looks like it's possible that Titans could be interesting?

Okay, that's cool. I didn't really want to do it as the review pick, seeing as we just did Blackest Night a couple weeks ago. So maybe Titans or Superman. Wolverine/Spider-Man is supposed to come out that week too so who knows.
