As usual Star is correct. When you get as abrasive as you can Twigg it either pisses people off a lot or drives them away.

I hope Old man comes back.

Why? I said I wasn' tbuying the comic. He called it the best comic since Watchmen. I think it's pretty clear who was over exagerating for some schtick in that thread.

Here's a bit of a dilema in a review. I've been reviewing almost all the Siege one shots this month and so far the only two that have really proven themselves are Young Avengers and Loki. I did enjoy Spider-Man as well, but none of them has really delivered on showing anything really important to add to the Siege story.

Secret Warriors is the some of the same. Not a bad story at all, in fact there were moments that I actually enjoyed. I've never read any of the SW books so this was my first foray into this team.

Enjoyed Nick and Steve's scene as well as the letter that was written at the end of the story. Some of the dialogue seemed a bit clunkey though, and how Ares' son was able to get as far as he did shows a total lack of reality when it comes to protection of the President. I just didn't buy it.

Art was okay, at times very remincisent of John Romita Jr. at his best. Still I didn't find anything here that made me want to check out it's own book or anything here that furthered the Siege story, either. Therefore it kind of failed.

Story: 6
Art: 7
My Score: 6.75

But Phobos is the GOD OF WAR now. He is unstoppable and furthermore, he feeds of violence - the more agents that came at him, the more formidable he would become. (He's like the hulk but instead of getting bigger and dumber, he fights harder and more brilliantly)

I don't think Phobos changed his god status because his father died, he's still the God of Fear. He's been able to kick ass that way since the Oeming mini, he just hadn't had a reason to before now.

I liked this one, sure, it wasn't anything mindblowing or integral to the overall Siege or Secret Warriors plots, but it had some good character moments for Fury and Alex, something I feel Hickman lacks. So it wasn't what I was expecting, but was good stuff nonetheless. Review tomorrow I think.

I don't know, but the book did allude to his taking his father's mantle, but whatever. and being the God of Fear probably works the same way.

It's phrased a bit awkwardly to be sure.

Siege: Secret Warriors

Siege: Secret Warriors does itself no favours by coming out the same week as an issue of its parent title. While Secret Warriors #15 has great art, wonderfully muted colours and some wonderful plot AND character beats the Siege special issue is lacking in pretty much all of those areas.

The comic finds Alex, God of Fear trying to avenge his father and Nick Fury and Captain America kicking ass in Asgard. The Fury segments provide some pay-off for Fury and Norman Osborn's recent butting of heads without actually bringing the thread to a conclusion. I expect any closure here will have to be found in the finale of Siege itself and that Fury, like so many Marvel heroes with a grudge against the soon-to-be-former Iron Patriot will be taking a back seat to Marvel's 'big three'. Either way, it wasn't hugely necessary in this respect but it does set up Cap's appearance in the forthcoming Howling Commandos arc. Another problem with these parts is the colours. Jose Villaruba's bright shades really don't fit the muted look SW usually rocks, and the Siege sections fall a little flat, looking like any other book on the stands and lacking SW's usual punch.

The rest of the comic has Alex assaulting the White House in order to give the President a piece of his mind about his work with Norman Osborn and the very personal consequences it has had on him. While we don't get the confrontation a strongly worded letter and a pile of bodies is the first real example in the book of just how scary this kid is, and it's a little overdue. Awesome to see it though. The art here is gritty, and the bright and shininess of Asgard is gone and it works much much better as a result.

So the comic features a little setup, a little resolution and and a lot of action. It's not a typical SW issue although I expect the ramifications from it while be significant. A missed opportunity for sure but not totally without merit.

I Zombie sounds cool, but so does Spider-Man/Wolverine. It's between those two...
