There are a lot of cool elements in Ultimate Thor #1, but most of it feels like it's setting up for the other 3 issues. Carlos Pacheco and Dexter Vines do a nice job, on their end; but Edgar Delgado is the weak link of the bunch. It's not that his work is bad, but it just doesn't mix well with Pacecho and Vines' work. I'm interested to see how the mini-series will progress from here.

A good pick for next week could be John Constantine: Hellblazer - City Of Demons #1. I don't think we've ever done a Hellblazer before, and it's got art from the astounding Sean Murphy.

Yes, even someone flicking through the book in the shop would easily see the amount of non-story pages is ridiculous in a book which is selling for $3.99!
The eventual trade will no doubt be able to get away with those full page epigrams, but a 22 page comic? No way.

Well, there are 21 pages of art, so it's a page down from the usual. Nevertheless, there is the unremarkable double page spread in addition to the wordless four page battle scenes.

For Ultimate Thor, I would have preferred a continuation of the "Hippy" version which Mark Millar introduced in the original Ultimates volumes. One of the attractions of THAT version was that no one was ever sure whether he was the actual God Of Thunder or merely a very powerful individual who thought he was!
Having Frost Giants, Nazis and Asgard, just makes it seem a cash-in on the forthcoming film.

They kind of can't do that anymore since Millar revealed that he actually was Thor.

The character was very earth based and even when he showed his power, Fury & co were still unconvinced of his self-professed "godhood".
Anyway, Loeb's Ultimate Thor is entirely different, so I already knew it was a forlorn hope for a continuation of the Millar version.

Not at the end of Ultimates 2, when Thor lead a bunch of Asgardians from the Rainbow Bridge.

The ambiguity was really interesting I agree, but you can't put the cat back in the bag.

Then why are they keeping him under psychological observation and still considering him deluded in Ultimate Thor #1?

Because that sequence was set in the recent past, either before Ultimates 1, or during Ultimates 2 when he was in prison.

In the present Ultimate Universe, Thor has just been brought back from the dead in New Ultimates, and is about to fight Loki.

Unless this is set after the much delayed New Ultimates, then it would be now.

But either way, in the Ultimate Universe, Thor is without doubt the real deal now.

You already said if his Godhood or identity were in doubt, the "Now" part of Ultimate Thor has to take place before Ultimatum--in your words it would have to take place before the end of Ultimates 2. That isn't now in Ultimate Universe! It's well in the past of the UU timeline.
