Sigh.

I'm loving Cyclops right now, in fact, I think I am one if like four people rooting for him in AvX.

I just know how comics work.

Cyclops hasn't really changed that much. He's just become a bigger dick.

How are any decisions he makes now different to what he would've done 20 years ago?

Cheating on his wife? Did that now and 20 years ago.
Fighting with Wolverine? Did that now and 20 years ago.
Being a dick? Did that now and 20 years ago.

EDIT: So I was looking stuff up on Wikipedia and I had completely forgotten about this:

Scott and Jean return to the X-Men some time after at the request of Storm, when she grows concerned about the mental well-being of Professor X (who had returned sometime prior).[volume & issue needed] Their return then leads to the events of The Twelve, in which Apocalypse plans to use a machine to steal the powers of twelve select mutants and the body of Nate Grey which will make him virtually omnipotent.[volume & issue needed] In order to save Nate, Cyclops willingly merges with the villain Apocalypse.[41] He is believed dead until Jean and Cable track him down to Egypt and separate him from Apocalypse, killing Apocalypse's spirit in the process.[42]
[edit]New X-Men
Upon Cyclops' return to the X-Men following his possession, his personality has been altered as a result of being bonded with Apocalypse. This change causes a rift between him and Jean; he claims that Apocalypse made him question not only their relationship, but his life as a whole. He is instrumental in preventing the mutant Xorn's suicide and in recruiting the powerful mutant to the X-Men. The two establish a close friendship; similarly, repeated missions with Wolverine result in the growth of a tentative friendship between the two veteran X-Men.
When Jean begins to show signs of the Phoenix Force again, the distance between the two grows larger and Scott begins abstaining from sex with Jean for the five months. Jean attempts several times to confront Cyclops, but he continues to push her away, claiming that Apocalypse had changed him too much on the inside.

He is so totally a villain now. I had completely forgotten about that.

From the solicits, it looks like the X-Men put the Avengers in prison. That should be interesting. Maybe a concentration camp.

totally agree, she went from being the "unwanted" by Bruce, and a fuck up, to being a great hero and fully accepted by the entire Batfamily, including Bruce.

Had anyone had mentioned Baron Zemo (Helmut) yet? He started up as the stock "descendant of a long dead enemy obsessed with and seeking revenge" type villain.
Now he is a more interesting character who is driven by more complex motivations, use more sophisticated methods, conceive more elaborated plans and strategies and had a more compelling(at times charming) personality.

Rogue.

Read any Rogue appearance pre-Carey's X-Men: Legacy run and you'll see the difference. She went from barely tolerable caricature to one of my favorite X-Men ever.

Good. Tony Stark could use some alone time, and for the shit they're pulling in X-Men Legacy, so can She-Hulk, Falcon and Moon Knight.

This.

Rogue gaining control of her powers was long overdue, and it really was the final piece of a well-rounded character.

Can't believe nobody said Wally West, who grew so much during his time as Flash...man.

Two steps back: Storm. Holy hell. Has that chick done anything significant besides marrying up since she got her powers back 20 years ago?

Storm was the premiere bad-ass of the X-Men (even before Wolverine) and it's really a shame how they've mishandled her character so much over the last 20-25 years.

She went from A-list X-Man, stabbing Morlocks, having sexually ambiguous lady friends and putting the fear of God into motherfucking DOOM, to "oh, look, there's Black Panther's wife... where's Wolverine at?"

The most interesting things she's done in years is get banged by Namor in a fictional universe.

I remember reading that one of the things that Remender wanted to do was gave Adaptoids be the Sentinels for the Avengers.

Sentinels hunt mutants
Adaptoids hunt Avengers.

Be cool if the X-club create these.
