Comic Foundry Issue 3

Just wanted to let you guys know that this issue just came out this week and it just keeps getting better and better.

This month's issue features an interview with Blair Butler from G4's Fresh Ink segments as well as an in-depth article about the recession and it's effect on comics. Not to mention informative one-pagers on multiple topics such as Dash Shaw's Bottomless Belly Button from Fantagraphics, a first look at Paul Pope's clothing line from DKNY, interviews with Jonathan Lethem, Brian Wood, etc. and much more.

It's intelligent without being condescending. It's hip while still maintaining relevance. It doesn't pander to the comic masses and makes a genuine attempt at trying to broaden horizons.

I highly recommend that you guys pick this up. A lot of my fellow Midtown Comics alum and friends from the store have made contributions and I feel a certain amount of pride seeing their work come to the page.

Hopefully, your LCS's keep it in stock (if not, please ask to see if they'd be willing to order some copies) but you can also order it directly from the Comic Foundry website. Try it out, I'm confident you won't regret it.

It looks interesting to me too.

Does anyone here have anything to do with it?

I picked it up. Haven't read it yet, but it does look good. Even WITH a clothed chick on the cover.

Nope. But I did recommend PS 238 to my buddy Adan who wrote the recommendations for all-ages readers.

You might also recognize Alan Kistler who used to be at Monitor Duty but is currently writing for Comicmix.com. He was also on the DC New Frontier DVD

When I went to the comic con I walked over to the booth (Saw Matt fraction on the cover and really thought he was there, got excited too) Started up a long conversation with the young lady there, bought the first two issues and found myself falling in love with the magazine.

It really is everything you could ask for as a comic fan/part of nerd culture that you can actually be proud of. You could pass this off to non comic book reading friends and they would love it too.

And they take so many swipes at wizard in funny ways. I love comic foundry.

I'm going to look the all the issues at the Toronto Comicon tomorrow. I hope I can find them, as it sounds like a good magazine.

I wish. Hawkie wants some free press or something (I'll take anything free).

I'm pretty sure it was Laura I talked to, she was really nice and I enjoyed the conversation we had. And 20 dollars later I am now a subscriber. (My copy of issue 3 is sitting on my bed, haven't read the whole thing yet)

I couldn't find the issues anywhere at the Toronto Con. Only a few people ever heard of the magazine, but the people that have read it highly recommend it.

I'll have to check the new place I get some books.

It should be in Diamond so you can ask them to order you a copy in their next order.

If not, you can check their website and place an order. They also have some samples of content
