misac wrote:Finished Planet Hulk, WWH Prologue, #!, and X-men #1. Planet Hulk was great. I don't think I had read more than ten issues of the Hulk up to this point. WWH #1 was cool but I think it's BS that the Hulk beat Black Bolt. I like WWH: X-men more that the main mini. Awesome fight with the New X-men. Another thing, I think the X-men could easily beat the Hulk. Colussus, Wolvie, and Beast distract him while Emma gives him a brain whammy like in Morrison's X-men. Or Kittty.

A few things I don't like about this event: The Illuminati voting to send the Hulk into space. Black Bolt lives on the moon, I doubt he cares about a rampaging Hulk. Strange was Hulk's teammate, I don't think he'd turn him back on him. Reed is one of my favorite characters, I hate the idea of him making so many mistakes in the last year.
The X-Men couldn't defeat Hulk, dude. Xavier has had trouble before reading the Hulk's mind and he's more experienced than Emma. Dunno know about Kitty but the Hulk's healing factor is really good (like what Wolverine fans and writers want his to be) so I doubt she could do much damage for long. Also, Strange banished the Hulk to another dimension before.

Kitty could phase him to the Earth's core, but that won't happen.

Emma could make the Hulk have an orgasm like in New X-men. He might revert to Bruce then.

I read issues 1 - 4 of the new Brave & the Bold series. Not the best Perez art, but still very solid. Some pages and panels didn't look as tight as others.

The story is good so far. Waid does a nice job of switching up the main characters in each issue, but we still see the other characters too. So far it's one big arc. I'm interested in seeing how it continues.

Read Thor #1 yesterday. I think it was a good start to a new series - assuming you know the current status of the character. The art was good. I've heard complaints about Thor, but I like how he is very distinguishable from everyone else.

I think a lot of the complaints center around the fact this incarnation of Thor is a lot less Kirbyesque. Normally, I'd agree, but I would love to see a fresh new take on Thor. I can't wait for the next issue.

Just read the first three Annihilation: Conquest books (Prologue, Wraith and Nova) and I actually rather enjoyed them. It's a lot like the Borg whooping the Kree Empire and I look forward to more of it. Bit of a guilty pleasure for me since I likes me some epic sci-fi every now and then.

I've liked what I read so far. Other than the Super Skrull and Galactus I really didn't know or care about these characters but now I do. I'm gonna read the third HC after I finish Fourth World v.1.

I read Carl Bark's Greatest Duck Tales v.1 and The Other Side. Duck Tales was great, makes me wish there were cartoon books coming from Marvel and DC. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more DT trades. McDuck is a real SOB.

The Other Side was a great read, but a real downer. I did get a chuckle whenever they gun would talk. The art was great, major props to Cameron Stewart.

Read issues 1-6 of Emissary (Image - Jim Valentino). Better than I was expecting. The art is nice, and consistent (aside from a few panels in issues 5 & 6). The writing was nice, but I think some pages were out of order in issue #4 (or 5?).

The concept is a person with powers arriving in the real world, and how the Earth reacts to him. The story continues past issue #6, so I'm not sure how it all plays out (though I am interested in finding out).

I just put Tim O'Brien's book "The Things They Carried" in your book box. Yes, I still haven't sent it.

:D Don't worry, I'm getting two books next week and I still have The Ultimate Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy to finish.

I didn't think the jokes were funny. The only one I liked was 42.
