a very poor selling book
fan-boy outrage over new characters in main books (see Hope and Damien)
and decades of the majority of comics staring new characters failing miserably have told comic book companies that new characters don't do well
let alone new ones that will scream of PC bullshit ( :roll:

you might succeed with a new character
you might succeed by revealing that an existing character is a minority
but, 99% of the time, you can't have a new minority character (is Batwoman all that successful ?)

More controversy stirring from CA, as they put the gay cat amongst the gay pigeons. It seems that sexuality is their new cause celebre after their readership turned on them after the whole sexism thing.

Some of these make sense, Hercules, Harley and Ivy and the two Legion characters have all been hinted at, but the likes of Tim Drake and Captain America being gay is just fanfic nonsense. It's fun to crack jokes about Tim being more upset about Superboy's death than Wonder Girl, but anything more than that is silly.

Also, I'm surprised Iceman isn't on this list, but I think my thread on that subject closed the book on that theory.

Interesting list but here is my take:

Wonder Woman

-This will never happen due to her being a flagship DC character. The day that WW comes out of the closet is the day Batman and Superman do as well and we all know that DC will never risk a shitstorm from the fans by taking this direction.

Hercules-I don't see this happening over at Marvel for some reason

Catman-This I could see happening as Catman is a d-list character so the shock factor wouldn't be
that great

Shrinking Violet and Lightning Lass-Not that familiar with ever of them to comment

Steel Sterling (Who?)-My sentiment exactly

Storm

-Again another flagship character that has been widely established as heterosexual, so I don't
see Marvel taking this direction anytime soon.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

-Poison Ivy is hinted as being bi-sexual and not fully gay. Harley on the other hand, hell no! She is too obsessed with the Joker to ever swing the other way.

Gambit:

-Hell no! It has been firmly established that he has the hots for Rogue so I don't see how this angle would ever be plausible.

Tim Drake:

-Again hell no! Tim has been linked to various females such as Stephanie, Ariana, Cassie, Cassandra, Lucius Fox's daughter, Darla, etc so not credibility in the gay claim whatsover.

Captain America:

-No-just no all over! Captain America is a flagship character at Marvel and like Wonder Woman, the company would not risk a shitstorm from the fans by making him gay.

I don't think we've met the mother either.

More than likely she would have the Latino name, if that were the case.

The father is supposedly a corrupt politician.
