The problem is that they're NOT doing much "space police stuff."

Under Geoff, the GLs have become horribly insular; they're taking care of things related to being a GL (fighting OTHER Lantern Corps, fighting the Manhunters who are the GLs' precursors, fighting the Guardians who made them Lanterns...) rather than taking care of NON-Lantern-related threats. The NON-Lantern-related threats are the REAL "space police stuff" that they should be handling, but those are all being neglected while the GLs go through month after month and year after year of self-absorbed navel-gazing.

IS NOT!!! He's the Anti-Monitor's. But yeah.. I miss those tales. Hell the first GL New Guardian tale had more space cop action than GLC in the last two years.

For the record what really annoyed me about this cash grab of an event is that there is usually an ending in these multi book events. A definitive moment that wraps stuff up despite laying the seeds for the next one.

There was none here. It went from the middle of the climax of the story titled "rise of the Third Army conclusion" to " to be continued in "Wrath of the First Lantern".

No story in this was ever finished, it just got tacked on moments to continue everything into the following issues with no resolutions at all.

That's what Blackest Night felt like to me.

And that's why I stopped reading.

I think I'd like DnA more on Green Lantern Corps. That would fit more into their cosmic-y vibe. Not sure they would be able to balance the Earth stuff with the cosmic stuff, a requirement for any GL writer.

STFU and go re-read Nova right now, you godless heathen. :smt011 :smt011 :smt011

Found the "Richard Rider on Earth" storyline at the beginning to be nowhere near as cool as the cosmic stuff. That being said, I'm only one trade into the series. Waiting for a Guardians-related sale at Comixology so I can clean those motherfuckers out.

Also: WHY HASN'T ANYONE POINTED OUT THAT NOVA'S NAME IS "DICK RIDER?"
