Dale Keown’s variant cover for THE FLASH #7

Postby LOLtron » Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:12 pm

Dale Keown’s variant cover for THE FLASH #7Dale Keown turns out a great alternate cover for Flash #7!!!

From Alex Nagorski at DC's Blog,

In last month's THE FLASH #6, Captain Cold made his debut in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52. And his desire for revenge against Barry Allen is only getting stronger.

Below, take a first look at artist Dale Keown's variant cover for THE FLASH #7, in which we learn the real reason for Captain Cold's rampage through Central City. His gripe with the fastest man alive is legit — since the Flash is the cause of all his woes.

"I was sent a few sentences about the story and an existing cover to get started," Keown told THE SOURCE when asked about his creative process. "I worked up a sketch for editorial, which was approved with some notes. I usually do the digital inks with some gray scale rendering so it's just a matter of throwing on some color and hi-lites."

THE FLASH #7 goes on sale on March 28th.

I love Dale Keown, I wish he would take on a regular title again.

Same thing that happened to most of the DC heroes' costumes; 90's XTREME happened!

That is a pretty awesome cover! I loved Keown when he was drawing Hulk. I picked up the Darkness/Pitt trade the other day just because he drew it, and because it was 50% off at Books A Million

I've been reading Flash in the comic store, I don't remember his costume looking that douchey.

It's not he gave it some lightening flair.

DC Superhero costumes, Affliction style. Hmmmmm....

Wish I had better artistic skills.

In the original costume design specs, it was noted that when Flash used his speed, the recessed seams in his outfit glow.
Although this version does seem a bit lightning-esque.
