I have to admit, I think it's ridiculous that people are fine with Watchmen being mined and whored out, but seeing a book getting cancelled for selling less than 10,000 gets them wound up.

It's another shitty move for people who like quality comics (although I admittedly never read the book), but y'know what plenty of you seem fine with some of the other marketing promotions so you have to accept this.

You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

Three years ago, when Dan Didio was named publisher, Vertigo published fourteen ongoings. Now they publish five. Of course, that doesn't mean that there are problems with Vertigo. Also, Mitt Romney got 330 electoral votes, there were never any US military forces in Iraq, and cigarettes are healthy for you.

Anybody got Trade Sales Numbers? At least the Amazon ones? Don't most Vertigo books make their money through that format?

If we do, we can at least tell the story better.

I'm not fine with Before Watchmen either. No hypocrisy here.

Cool, but I have seen some people who think that if you read even one superhero comic you have to be OK with all of the bullshit. Like if you read Superman you approve of DC screwing over Siegel and Shuster and therefore have to allow Before Watchmen.

I didn't even know about that until the Before Watchmen thread that had the latest one shot and Blue posted the sales figures on the various ones out right now.

I think taking a failing book whose main character had ties to the pre-Vertigo DCU, and making it a Nu52 title based on the Nu52 version of the character makes a lot of sense.

Here's the thing though, it doesn't.
