DCU Vs He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe

The 6-issue mini series debuts this summer.

Source: DC Blog Press Release

It was inevitable that at some point, these two epic worlds would collide.

The heroes of the DC Universe will be facing off against He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in an exciting and all-new six-issue miniseries from writer Keith Giffen and artist Dexter Soy!

After narrowly escaping his last battle with He-Man, Skeletor has fled to the most unexpected realm to recover: EARTH! Once there, he sets a plan in motion to siphon off Earth’s core magic. Forging an unlikely hunting party, He-Man and company go in search of Skeletor. Finding themselves at odds with the heroes of the DC Universe, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe must find a way to stop Skeletor and his mysterious new master!

And how will the Masters of the Universe respond to finding themselves within the DC Universe?

“Culture shock lives! Actually, they've come to stop Skeletor from doing to the DCU what he's always wanted to do to Eternia,” Giffen teased. “By the way... what makes you think Skeletor came to the DCU voluntarily?”

Below are the Ed Benes’ covers for the debut issue, one featuring the heroes of the DC Universe, and the other featuring the Masters of the Universe!

And be sure to head on over to BUZZFEED to read their full coverage.

DC UNIVERSE VS. THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE #1 arrives in stores on August 28.

It's commendable of Benes to show that hip-displaced females can be successful super heroes.

Yeah, he forgot that this is Dan and the Gang's crappy '90s Elseworlds universe, not the real DCU.

So He-Man requires a more realistic (and modest) armor, but Teela requires even less than she had before?? *smh*

I guess this is part of DC's MotU canon (same writer as the current DC series), which is different from the current Mattel "King He-Man" canon. Oh, comics... :)

Oh, definitely!

Would hope for classic costumes, of course. 8)
