DeConnick and Caselli Assemble the Avengers

Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Stefano Caselli will take the reins of Avengers Assemble.

Marvel announced the new creative team for Avengers Assemble with just a few words and an image:

Kelly Sue DeConnick.

Stefano Casselli.

November 2012.

I think that about sums it up. Now we know who'll be taking over for the departing Brain Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley.

This is surprising and also very nice to see. Though I wonder if this is just a stop gap for another creator to come later on.

Think my response got lost in the transfer.

That's a good team, but that's also a crappy Caselli drawing. I say that as a fan of his for a while- I really hope that isn't a snap shot of his style for this book.

I don't think that promo was drawn by Caselli, it looks nothing like any of his work I have ever seen.

I kinda expected him on one of the side Avengers books as well until they announced his Hulk. I didn't think he'd be on more than 2 Marvel books with all his creator owned/digital stuff.
