Did anyone else read The New Deadwardians #1? (Spoliers)

This issue was mostly an introduction to George Suttle and the world he lives in. It was a pretty good intro though, and the world itself is interesting. George himself looks to be a character that I'm going to enjoy reading about. The opening two pages with him lamenting the loss sleep, and especially of dreams, that came with his vampirism made for a good read.

As for the world itself, there are a few questions. There seems to be quite a few normal humans running around in society. Why has the murder rate dropped to the point that George is now the only homicide detective for all of London? What exactly is the cure for a zombie bite? Although with that one I think I can hazard a good guess. What caused the Restless to come into existence? The dialogue makes it clear that the Restless haven't always been around. I do expect that most of these question will be answered.

The ending was also an excellent set-up. We have our mysterious murder of a vampire in a way that doesn't add up. I am definitely curious about where all of this is going to go.

I wanted to read this, but I was going to wait and check out the trade.

I liked it enough to keep reading. The art is kind of silly.

I really liked this book
best of the 4 new Vertigo #1s, IMO
My only gripe is that I don't like it when authors try to write in that "low class" English accent, it never works well, IMO

I was able to get all four new books at a huge discount, and I did to see which ones I'll wait for trade and this is the only for sure will buy
probably get Fairest

no on the other two
