David Bird wrote: Steph's strength as a character relies greatly on her relationships with other characters. First Tim Drake, but now Tim was never Robin and that dynamic is gone. Then Cass, but Cass hasn't been brought back. Then Damian, but he's dead. It would have been easier to create a martial arts comic around Cass.

This is why my DC pull list keeps on shrinking and shrinking.

I'm disliking the New 52 more and more and more.

Stephanie had her moments (though her best were with Damian, Kara, Cassandra, and Tim), now bring back Cassandra and restore Hank Henshaw as the one true Cyborg Superman.

Agreed here and hopefully they'll bring back Wally, Jade, Jean Paul Valley, Orpheus, Donna, Kate Spencer and a few others as well. I know there is a snowball hell chance of all of these ones I mentioned coming back but I can wish can I not?

I knew in my gut this was going to happen today after the earlier DC panel in the morning said to ask the Stephanie question at the Batman Panel. Part of me hopes the other shoe will drop by C2E2.

If not.. well I know what I'll be doing at the panels.

I think the most likely scenario would be to completely reboot her story. Start her off as trying to ruin her father's evil plans, then incorporate her into the Bat-family and let the relationships between her and the rest develop from there.

The character everyone wanted back until DC announced they were bringing her back, apparently.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but DC did just recently kill off hope in the DCnU. Seriously, the Blue Lantern corps was almost entirely wiped out and the blue light of hope was extinguished. :(

Which is kind of what worries me if they bring back Stephanie or any of the other characters Zechs and I mentioned is that they will either ruin them or kill them off out of spite.

On another note, I hope they don't give Stephanie one of those god-awful New Image 52 redesigns like they have done so many other characters.

DC needs to realise that fans don't actually care about Stephanie Brown or any of the other missing characters, they just like to complain.

The reaction to this news proves that, nobody's actually happy, just more complaining.

I would venture to say that quite a few fans care about Wally West.

Maybe, but if he were to come back, there would still be complaining.

That's...very, very wrong. I care about Stephanie Brown, as a character. Same with Cassandra Cain. I want more stories involving them. HOWEVER, I, like the other fans you claim "just like to complain", want their personalities intact.

Fans are complaining because they're worried that Steph isn't going to be the upbeat, smiling, fun character she was before. Look at Starfire, Arsenal/Red Arrow, Tim Drake, and numerous other characters when this whole New52 nonsense started: If those are any indicators of how Steph (or other characters) would be brought back, fans have every right to be negative.

We want Steph back, but not some "reinvented" Steph that no one but a horny Jim Lee or vindictive DC executive wanted. Put quite simply, like Cass, Wally, and just about every DC character that already got rebooted...Stephanie needs no reinvention. She's fine they way she is, but DC is intent on "fixing" what is not broken.
