So... (and no I did not RTFA) you are saying a male will reveal someone else is gay? From the sentence you pulled, and how I read it someone known (iconic), that is male (he), will come out as gay...

UNLESS... Donna Troy or Hawkgirl are... transgendered?

The huge rumor running around right now is that part of Billy Batson's backstory will be that he's a bullied gay teen.

God I hope that doesn't turn out to be true but knowing the current regime.... :smt011

Come on, Doombug...you just said we were all crazy in the "Dan Didio: Dastardly Dictator of Doom" thread, but here you acknowledge the Reign of Terror that DC's management has unleashed.

Be honest. You can admit it.

You know that Dan Didio has a Reverse-Midas Touch, where the more he touches something, the more it's likely to turn into crap.

Billy Batson, bullied gay teen? I absolutely can see that from them. It doesn't quite fit how they've established the parameters as reported, but given their general disdain of Billy Batson as an individual character, I can see them doing that in order to make him relevant, in their bizarre way of thinking.

Truthfully? I honestly feel that he got a sniff of the likely Northstar wedding at Marvel, realized that he didn't have anything to bring to class for Show and Tell, and started desperately thinking about which character he could have that would give DC exposure but not cause a riot because of the orientation change.

I don't think he knows what he's doing. He feels he NEEDS to do SOMETHING. But the reason he "changed his mind about previously existing characters" is because he doesn't know what he's doing.

I don't follow DC as much, but how many times has Marvel made official announcements from Quesada, to Brevoort, to the writer and artist in question. And then that statement ends up being a falsehood.

It's a marketing technique, to get people interested and get people guessing.
