Farewell to Morbius: the Living Vampire (Spoilers)

Postby Stephen Day » Tue Sep 24, 2013 4:35 pm

I got the last issue of this series Saturday. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the nine issues of this run were the best thing out there, but you know what, I did enjoy this series while it lasted.

When it comes to how this final issue went and how it ended the series, there are good points and bad points. I am a little frustrated that not all of the plot was wrapped up neatly, but I do realize that this series ended before it was supposed to and that's probably a big reason for that. We still don't know who this new version of the Rose was, but then again, considering Morbius killed him in the end, I don't suppose it really matters in the long run. I also would like to have seen Morbius learn that the man who hired the Rose was Michael Morbius' own father.

Having said all of that, the major things that were at the very heart of this series, the lives of the people of the Brownsville neighbourhood Morbius was protecting, were all brought to a satisfying ending. The people he cared about in this series are safe and have moved onto a better life. He defeated the bad guys and saved the day. When all else is said and done, despite the unresolved plot threads, I can walk away from this series with pleasant memories.

And walk right back to those sparkly vampires you love reading about.

I could make an argument about how this statement isn't true. I could point out everything that is wrong about the Twilight series. I could, but I won't, because this response is so much more fun. :P

Sparkle this!

Stephen likes his vampires to be pig nosed. Not sparkly. :smt011
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

I figured this would be one of the first Marvel NOW titles to get axed. I'm surprised X-Men Legacy is still on stands.

Is it cause you read all the books and watched all the movies multiple times?

Stephen, it's okay if you read Twilight. After all, if Nerdy read them, he might actually stand a chance at getting a girl to look at him.

I've actually been assuming that he has read them and this is him awkwardly testing to see if he can find somebody to talk with him about them. :smt102
