"Death of the Family" was only 4 issues.
"Court of Owls" was around the same length, though.

I heard how this one ends, though. I know someone who knows someone, and so forth. But...

Bruce Wayne becomes Batman

11 issues!?!?!? How do you arrive at such an arbitrary number? Did the Bat editors say "Wellllll, we don't want anyone to accuse of of wasting A WHOLE YEAR on an origin story that's been told before, so let's just ALMOST do that!" ?

DC should have done this at the start of the Nu-52...sort of.

What might have made the nu-52 easier to handle is if DC started each new series with a bi-weekly, Man of Steel-type mini leading up to the series' true new 1st issue. Basically, a series of ome-issues looking at key incidents in the character's histories. Supes & Bats of course get more stuff told through lead-ups to their solo series, Action, Detective, etc. that could be used to explore specific of certain parts of their backstory Superman in Metropolis, for example. Or Batman's partnership with Dick Grayson.

:-D

Well Death of the Family felt like at least six issues. The Joker's monologue in #18 felt like at two issues. :P

Yeah, my only issue with Court of the Owls was its length. It kind of dragged at the 8th or 9th issue. Answering that complaint with another 11-issue storyarc seems like not the best plan.

This should come as good news to all the Harper Row haters- it's harder to make her the new Robin doing a year long younger Bruce story.

Pete Tomasi could get access to the character when the title goes back to being Batman & Robin. :P

11 issues is probably too long for a retelling of an origin we all already know, but I'm sure it will be a good story. So... who knows?

It does seem a bit silly, you've just done 2 big stories that have changed the Batman status quo (Killing Damian and the Bat-Family not trusting Batman anymore) and then you go and do a story set before any of the Family were around. Kills the momentum a tad.

But as I said, it should be a good story.

Wow, I am so looking to know exactly how Bruce became Batman even though this has been done over 50 times already-note the sarcasm in my statement

It's probably good for trade sales.

Just like with Breaking Dawn & Harry Potter, why tell the story in just one installmentwhen you can sell it in two?

Ugh.

I believe you said "in 4 issues" or along those lines last time. Doesn't sound like much of anything in Snyder's Batman happens in 4 issues.

On topic, I think you would have to be sick or insane to spend around $45 on another 11 issues of Batman origin.
