FIRST LOOK: Legenderry: A Steampunk Adventure #1

Preview pages and concept art from Dynamite's new 7-issue mini-series

Source: Comics Continuum previews (lettered) / Dynamite Comics (concept art)

Dynamite Comics and the team of Bill Willingham, Sergio Fernandez Davila and Joe Benitez present a new limited series with a SteamPunk twist on some of Dynamite's most popular characters. The action starts with Green Hornet and Vampirella, then eventually others such as The Phantom, Red Sonja and the Bionic Man join in on the adventure.

Dynamite's solicit

We start in the Big City, protected by Vampirella and the Green Hornet. A scarlet clad woman of mystery rushes into a bar, pursued by a team of assassins. The terror that breaks loose there and then will eventually lead (in the issues that follow) to The Phantom's Jungle, Flash Gordon's space age town of Landing, battles in the sky with Captain Victory, and so much more, until finally, we arrive in the Monstrous Lands, protected by... well, nobody.

So I know that Nieto read this and liked it :D

Did anyone else pick it up ? What did you think ?

Vampirella is not a character I've ever been drawn to but I like her character in this. Britt Reid's dialogue came off a bit over-blown to me but I also don't follow his current series nor have I read any prior steam-punk titles so I'm not sure if this is in line with either of those.
The art an coloring worked well to enhance the mood for each scene throughout.

I'm definitely up for the next issue.
