First Look at Marvel's Shocking Gay Wedding, Last Look at The World as We Know ItMarvel has released a preview of Astonishing X-Men #51, featuring the gay wedding of Northstar and Kyle, signaling the beginning of the end of the world.

Much to the chagrin of the concerned conservative organization One Million Moms and its hundreds of supporters, it appears that Marvel plans to go through with a same sex marriage in the pages of Astonishing X-Men #51. Apparently, destroying the integrity of the institution of marriage by depicting two fictional characters expressing their love for each other in a beautiful ceremony drawn by heathen artist Mike Perkins is not a problem for Marvel, which already has a history of destroying fictional straight marriages such as the one between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson in the pages of Spider-Man's One More Day storyline.

Back in 2007, Marvel, along with noted He-Man writer J. Michael Straczynski, ended Spider-Man's marriage by having the character make a deal with Mephisto, Marvel's flamboyant and probably homosexual version of the devil. When asked to explain the event, Marvel responded, adding salt to the wound, that they didn't need to explain it because it was "magic," which this reporter is well aware is a form of witchcraft, frowned upon by the Bible. Now, it appears that Marvel intends to finish the job they started by destroying all straight marriages in real life.

In any case, as the world crumbles around us, please enjoy this preview of the art from Astonishing X-Men #51, and may god have mercy on your souls.

This is bigger than the Scott/Jean wedding.

Northstar's wedding seems less tacky, too. Just sayin'.

That really is a nice cover, except for the groom's dad cruising on Puck.

I have the Spider-man wedding issue. Of course it means nothing now that Mephisto, Joe Quesada, JMS and Disney have destroyed both mine and Tim Marchman's childhoods.

Yes, some show up some don't. Betsy, Dazzler and Storm are supposed to be there.

Oh and who ever wrote the press release, Mephisto is straight, he's dating Magma

How long until Alpha Flight gets killed off again?

Oh wait, that's derailing. Uhhhh, how long until his hubby gets killed?

'Cause seriously, X-Men are not titles about being happy. They're about ANGST! Mutant ANGST! Where's the ANGST?!

Maybe Kyle leaves him at the altar?

It's pretty damn quick to go from last issue to this issue.

Yeah, I understand, but it just seems awkward. It's almost like the Storm/BP wedding. While the proposal came outta nowhere, there was at least a bit of time spent before the wedding actually happened. But here Kyle said no the previous issue and now there's a wedding. No slight down time or even a bachelor party?

Hmm. I think that has some type of sense.

there's no way to tell WHEN the wedding takes place in relation to last issue. We know (if you've read the book) that Northstar has to save him from the "bad guys." So maybe that changes his mind. And then the wedding is is shown after that. Without any word bubbles or captions or even if these pages appear one right after the other, there really is no way to tell when the wedding takes place in relation to the previous issue

I think it's easy to assume that this issue takes place after the last issue.

Unless there's a caption that says "6 months later" it's safe to say it happens soon (which is way too soon from the 'no way' of this month issue)
