Forever Evil #1 Preview Art

The 7-issue mini series debuts in September

Source: DC Blog

The DC Blog is previewing some of David Finch's art from Forever Evil #1 which begins directly after the "Trinity War" final chapter in Justice League #23  (click here for the Justice League preview).

Be sure to check out the DC Blog article as Finch describes  what it's like drawing such a large cast of villains as well as Lex Luthor's involvement in the series.

You can also head over to Newsarama for their detailed interview with him.

Below check out the preview art and place your guess on who that mysterious super-powerful woman in the cape is breaking into Arkham Asylum.   This doesn't bode well for Nightwing !

Forever Evil #1 goes on sale September 4.

So any guesses on who will be the first to be cannon fodder or fridged?

Edit: Spelling corrected.

I didn't realize Pachelbel is writing this.

I KNOW! Wow, maybe that is what kills his deadlines is heavy inking process. Bet he saved a day and a gallon of ink per page.

I'm not really a Finch fan. He's not a bad artist, but his finished art just doesn't do it for me.

The storytelling isn't very clear, and the wonky panel placement doesn't help. I can't tell what's going on in the second page.

EDIT: I don't know why I said "second." I meant the fourth page.

Lex Luthor and another guy having a discussion in a helicopter while flying over Metropolis.

My brain must have spazzed. I meant the fourth page with the Rogues breaking through the fence.

We get three big panels of Captain Cold freezing a fence, for some reason. Then Heatwave pats him on the shoulder and we get one small panel of him burning down the fence. Were they working together to do it? Did Heatwave ask him to move aside because his powers aren't suited to cutting through a fence? In the next panel, Heatwave has his back to Cold and there is no fence in sight, and then we see Cold talking to Mirror Master and then looking...perturbed?

I have no idea why those first few panels overwhelm the rest, since it seems that the later panels are the ones that are actually more significant to the story.

That really looks like Deathstorm on the final page...

And it looks like he's with Power Ring. And that's probably Superwoman breaking into Arkham.

Oh, good call. I didn't notice the ring until you mentioned it.

And that's probably Superwoman breaking into Arkham.

More than likely and she better leave Nightwing alone! :smt013

Nightwing is doomed.

After getting his legs ripped off by Superwoman and having them replaced with cybernetics, Dick will experience several painkiller induced hallucinations, culminating in him beating up a bunch of hobos with a dead cat. He will see the fear in the hobos' eyes, and realize the truth of what Bruce had said: "Criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot."

Looking at the dead animal in his hands, Dick will realize what he must do: "I shall become A CAT!"

Thus, Nu52 Catman is born.
