George Perez Exclusively Goes BOOM!

The famous artist has fled to the green pastures of BOOM! Studios.

Source: CBR

George Perez walking off Superman was one of the first stories in the now weekly calvacade of stupidity that is DC Comics.  Now, he's even further distancing himself from the BIg Two by signing an exclusive contract with BOOM! Studios.   Here's his reasoning as to why he went with BOOM! in an interview with CBR:

Well, while I have enjoyed considerable professional and personal success with both Marvel and DC, it was becoming all too evident that many of the books being produced by both companies seem to be getting more and more corporate driven. Many of the characters I grew up with were turning into strangers whose adventures were determined by factors that had less and less to do with what made a good comic story and more to do with how these properties can be exploited for other purposes.

In the interview, Perez cited BOOM's medical benefits plan and their desire to try to rekindle hsi creative spark as why he agreed to exclusively work with BOOM! He also stated that his first project would be announced at Baltimore ComicCon.

Not even that the writing was just bad. There is no questioning his art but he writing has been poor which I think accounts he does less of that and drawing.

Split ownership between George and Peter. It's how they showed up in Fallen Angel.
