I suppose, but Catwoman's always been like that. Where were these whiners during the Jim Balent era? Catwoman is sexy, she always has been, even during the Brubaker/Cooke issues there was a sexiness to the book.

my thoughts:

meh as to the raunch. the problem with both books is that they just sucked.


(well, Catwoman did, i'm just assuming RH did too based on the few pages i've seen online, the fact that they've butchered Kory's character, the fact that Roy and JT both suck donkey, and the fact that Lobdell's writing it)

although my fave part of Catwoman is the totally-in-no-way-meant-to-be-phallic-we-promise, absolutely unintentional placement of Bats' erect bat-ear sticking straight up, penetrating a panel border and aiming it's pointy end straight at Selina's hoohah in the panel above. i'm sure that was totally accidental.

That last page of Catwoman #1 was perhaps the nastiest thing I've ever seen in a DC comic.

And that bedroom scene in Red Hood & the Outlaws was tawdry, but in better taste than Judd Winick's penthouse romp.

Not that this is anything I've never seen in a comic book before. I'm not a prude. I just think it puts a smudge on the characters.

Does DC think it will modernize the characters if they show them bumping uglies with each other?
