Gotham's Fifth And Final Season Might Actually Introduce Batman

A brooding, emo 12-year-old Batman.

Source: TV Line

Fox's Gotham has been approved for a fifth and final season because once you introduce The Joker it's hard to go on from there without Batman and Gotham was always about what the city was like before Batman arrived. But the final season will focus on Bruce Wayne's transformation into the Caped Crusader. So expect Gotham season five to be Batman Begins.

While no episode count for the fifth season has been given, an earlier report stated that it would be 13 episodes which would be enough to push the show over the 100 episode mark, allowing for syndication.

Gotham's season four finale airs this week May 17 at 8pm on Fox.

It will probably end like Smallville, with the last scene having him in the costume. Too bad, it’s by far the best DC tv series.

Gotham > Flash > Black Lightning > Arrow >> Legends >>> Supergirl

Just imagine what kind of badass TV show they could have done about Bruce Wayne's youth... travelling around the world through the most exotic cultures, learning to fight in the streets and with warriors from all around the world, his first confrontations with criminal masterminds and psycho killers, the development of his ethical integrity and ideals...

Instead, they gave us Gotham.

Well, yeah, that's what I felt from the first season.

Well due to the Fox/ Disney deal, they had to wrap up Gotham before next year as I am sure they would have explored the idea of making Bruce continue his training around the world before coming back to Gotham and becoming Batman.

Fox doesn't own "Gotham". It's owned by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Any shows or movies currently in production or in the pipeline will not be affected by the deal because they don't know if the deal will even be approved.

You know what would be kind of cool? What if an unexplained temporal event caused the villains to get active early and instead of traveling the world Bruce was forged into batman by the unforgiving post apocalyptic Gotham no man's land? It practically writes itself!Much better idea than these guys got!
