I gotta agree with Chap.

"We've always been friends, Hal..."?? REALLY?? So, all those times Sinestro attacked Hal and/or his allies, trying to KILL them, were supposed to be what?? "Love taps"??

This is clearly more of Geoff's bad-fanfic-level whitewashing. And, as always, people are eating this tripe up.

And it's a shame, too. You guys were actually making a DCnU book sound good to me, up until that point...

Sinestro needs his own book.

It was good. At least in the sense of Johns run. I'm just curious how long will Sinestro be "off the table" and when DC will pull the trigger on him being just purely evil again.

While I really never focused on Sinestro in my observation, since that is what everyone is talking about, I will add this: I've always found it...odd...how Johns over the years has attempted to emphasize these weird bonds between heroes and their arch-rivals.

I, for one, don't need it. Superhero comics don't need to be that complex. Professor Zoom's a sick a-hole. Flash punches him in the face. Because Professor Zoom's a sick a-hole.

It doesn't have to be any more complex than that. Anything more, like this Sinestro-Hal Jordan "relationship," just isn't necessary. Sinestro's a despot and murderer. Hal Jordan's a member of the GLC. While there is the training officer connection, it doesn't have to be any more complex than that.

even moreso, a training officer who was an a-hole who he hated. I HATE this "humanizing" of Sinestro whitewash that Johns has done, it's why I dropped the damn book.

I don't mind it for Sinestro because it works for the way that Johns has written Green Lantern since Rebirth. I don't really care for it with other characters though. Definitely glad that Johns has been able to contain himself while writing Aquaman, Black Manta does NOT need to be a sympathetic characters.

It wouldn't shock me to hear about a "Sinestro Corps" series being announced sometime soon. With or without Johns.

After removing his Green Lantern ring, Sinestro takes his place as the leader of the Sinestro Corps once again. However, when that power fails him against Volthoom, Sinestro gets desperate and frees Parallax from the Power Battery. Sinestro bonds with Parallax and shows that he is fully in control of the entity of fear and after Volthoom is fully vanquished, sneaks off to slaughter all of the Guardians of the Universe, save Ganthet, who he spares in order to reunite with Sayd.

i didn't read it, but I damn sure wouldn't say I "missed" it either. that looks goddamn AWFUL. his fucking name is SINESTRO, Johns. he's supposed to be sinister, and was for damn near 50 years until he pussified him. Sinestro don't cry. Sinestro don't have kumbayah feels with Hal Jordan. Sinestro heckles gutter rats, whoops ass, and tries to kill urrbody.

ugh.

it works for the way Johns has written GL since Blackest Night, maybe...i.e. all the bad stuff. Sinestro was still an evil ass-kicking bad guy up until then, and the book was a thousand times better for it.

Geoff shoulda left after Sinestro Corps War. the book just went to shit after that.

Come on chap, can't you find it in your heart to give him a pass in this situation? The man lost his entire planet, which has always been shown to be one of the few things that he actually cares about, albeit usually in a crazy possessive way. Plus after all these years he finally got revenge on those little blue bastards. Can't the man take a moment just to have a moment?! :smt102

Actually, Sinestro spared two Guardians. He never told anyone except Larfleeze about Ganthet. When Arkillo goes to Atrocitus and says "he saved one for you" that is not Ganthet. What happened then is played out in full over in Red Lanterns #20.
