Bone has been adapted to novels, does that count as another media?

Walking Dead isn't that good IMO, the pilot was amazing, but after that...

It gets good ratings, but so did Smallville, which lasted 10 seasons.

Did you really just compare the two?

I understand your opinion (though you are always wrong), but, comparing The Walking Dead to Smallville is laughable, I literally laughed out loud when I read it.

We'll see at Emmy time how to compare them.

agreed, and exactly. and TV isn't the only "other media" out there. DC's been making good Batman movies off and on for 25 years. the first 2 Superman movies were great over 30 years ago. Marvel properties have been killing it at the theater for going on a decade now.

then you add cartoons. from BTAS through Young Justice. from Spectacular Spidey through Avengers: EMH. DTDVD movies like Under the Red Hood, New Frontier, All-Star Superman, DKR, Next Avengers, Planet Hulk, etc etc.

so in short, Hab: GTFO out with that shit. you're an imbecile.

Wanted was pretty good, and The Maxx (didn't realize it was Image actually) is one of my favorite cartoons of all time.

The original Spawn cartoon on HBO back in the mid 90's was top notch as well.

Definitely have a better batting average than the big two.

Hab

Wanted was horrendous. but then so was the source material, so...
Spawn the movie was horrendous.
WildCATS was horrendous.
Witchblade was horrendous.
Bulletproof Monk was horrendous.

the batting average ain't stellar there either.

A decade?

Daredevil? Quite schmucking up the thread....oye....

Image has a much better batting average than either of the big two, please proceed in completely ignoring that.

BTAS was great, but, so was Spawn, and so was The Maxx, keep trying sweet knees.

Bone was only Image for a little while.

I'm pretty sure that Image isn't really responsible for a lot of these adaptations, it's a creator-owned imprint, so it's up to the creators to get adaptations going.

Which is irrelevant, whatever system they have in place is obviously working.

Spider-Man -- 2002. that's a decade. although i was wrong...X-Men was 2000 and Blade was 1998, so i should'v said Marvel properties have been killing it at the theater for OVER a decade.

and so was STAS. and JL/JLU. and YJ.
so was Wolvy & the X-Men. and Spectacular Spidey. and A: EMH.

both have good toons. both have duds. but that Spawn cartoon last aired in '99, and the Maxx ran for just 13 eps in '95! what have you done for me lately?

OK I'll give you that, I'll still stand by it took them forever, 40 years is a long god damn time.

X-men was good, not great, still not making any headway.

JLU was good, YJ is not even in the conversation after a season and a half and the production and distribution of that show is so fucked up I would put that back in Images favor.

Wolvy and the X-men - crap
Spectacular Spidey - crap
A: EMH good, but, only two season another notch back in Images favor

Marvel Mashups are better than 75% of what you've listed.

Marvel overall is completely hit or miss with their animated properties, though, that trend does seem to be changing, DC has been more consistent, but, outside BTAS and maybe Batman Beyond nothing that great unless you go back to the 70's, still not so consistent really...

Somehow, this is the most cogent point made in this "adaptation" debate, yet it took forever for it to be made, and then it was greeted with a shrug.

yet you hang your hat on the Maxx, which ran for only 13 episodes almost 20 years ago! :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

and YJ and Spectacular Spidey are/were both fantastic cartoons. it's like I'm arguing with a Special Ed kid. :smt011
