The Infinite is dead. Long live the....well, probably not the Infinite.
Outhouse stalwart Rebis broke the tragic news of
The Infinite's passing today as the Image dream team of Robert Liefeld and Robert Kirkman came to a tragic end. News first leaked from Robert Liefeld's twitter account, who confirmed that, much like the Beatles, there was simply too much talent on the book.
Liefeld stated that "Unfortunately creative differences have sunk
The Infinite. It’s over." Liefeld stated that the decision stemmed from the use of a new inker, whose work caused a "split decision with Skybound." Liefeld went on to explain that he left the title because he wanted the work to remain the way he intended, something that he believed would not happen with the Skybound imprint.
On a related note, friends and family of
The Infinite fans are encouraged to keep a watch on him in the coming weeks as news of
The Infinite's death might cause extreme reactions ranging from clenching teeth in a constant state of anger, keeping their feet constantly out of view or arming themselves with impossibly large guns in hopes of bringing the title back to life. A careful eye should be kept on Outhouse webmaster Jude Terror, who is rumored to be bedazzling pouches to protest the premature ending of the title.
