Injustice Comic on Hiatus til January 2014

The digital ongoing series will return in January with a new arc.

Source: IGN

Tomorrow, DC releases the final issue of Injustice: Gods Among Us, the top selling digital first tie in to the video game of the same name. Written by Tom Taylor, the series has topped the digital charts for months and has amassed a cult following of fans on the Internet. However, while many fans feared that tomorrow's issue would be the book's last, Taylor revealed that the book would begin a second volume in January.  Here's what Taylor said to IGN:

I said early on that we had a definite ending in mind for our story. I knew that the story we were telling in these 36 chapters was essentially the break-up of the World’s Finest friendship. When Superman and Batman’s relationship became irreparable, that’s when our story would end. That tale is told now.

We have another story to tell in the pages of Injustice, and that story will begin in January 2014. Injustice has been an absolute dream project. The chance to tell this epic story with the world’s greatest heroes is something most comics writers, and most comics fans, would give anything for. I want to thank everyone at DC Comics, NetherRealm, the writers of the Injustice: Gods Among Us game, my good friend Kym Bagley for reading my scripts before anyone else and lastly, I want to thank every single one of you for picking up our series. If I could buy each of you a unicorn, I would.

To tide fans over until then, DC will be releasing an Injustice Annual in November.

I've really enjoyed this series a great deal more than I expected too.

It's really the only book from DC that I consider worth reading, and really highlights how a lack of editorial interference can greatly increase the quality of a book.

So after seeing the moment from 36 I read the issue, then I grabbed the whole series and I just finished issue 3. Holy fucking hell! Why did none of you that matter tell me how amazing this series is? This is the best book DC is publishing in like 3 years.

Because like you we only knew of it when there were sprinkles of moments posted. Wait until you get to the Harley/Green Arrow issue soon.

Sometimes I drop the ball.

Can I just blame punchy? Pretty sure he loves this book which makes me so hesitant to even look at it. :groucho:

Well he obviously doesn't like it enough to include it in his job application portfolio.
