Meh. Unless the whole concept of this series is a VR simulation, fans of the characters are still going to have a problem with the book.

yeah unless they think that Arcade being turned into a literal god is a good idea =/

Which it isn't IMO. Too bad I was hoping the stakes would be a little more absolute

i still for the life of me can't see how this BOOK fits Twigg's usual agenda...

i mean, yeah, he's been an advocate for character deaths in the past, but generally the deaths he mentions are deaths which are earned. he also generally has been a proponent of killing off long-standing, aged characters in order to make way for the natural progression of new characters. well guess what Twigg? this book ain't killing Wolverine, Spidey or the Thing to make way for Daken, Gravity, or Mettle...exactly the opposite. and i'm really assuming these deaths aren't gonna be earned either.

I gave the actual paper copy a good and proper read taking time to digest everything. it's a pretty good book and the kev walker art is beautiful.

It's pretty bad for the comics industry, I'd prefer some established name...

But honestly when was the last time you read a comic book not knowing what is going to happen? That's what is pissing so many people off, they're scared that they haven't got the comfort of nothing ever changing.

It's true. If someone important and huge like METTLE can die... Hoo boy, game over man. Game over. Nobody's safe.

Except for everybody. Everybody is safe. Nothing in this book will effect lasting change. In fact, no one will even die; it'll all be revealed to be an elaborate simulation. Once again, Gail-Dennis-Simone-Hopeless is trolling the tumblrsphere (and I hate that that's a real word!).

Making all those poor stupid kids get upset, then show them their beloved morts like Mettle, Gravity, etc... All just fine. They'll survive this book and then return to the dustbin of oblivion they were always going to relegated to anyways.
