This was a weird one, as it was all building up to an event we’ve already seen in last week’s Fear Itself #6, Tony jumping into the molten metal to get his now Asgardian Armour. So there wasn’t much suspense involved in his story, we know he survives the attack of the mud-monster. But Fraction made it interesting through Tony’s inner dialogue alone, his thoughts were just fascinating and made the fight more than a formality. I enjoyed the Rescue/Detroit Steel stuff a lot too, especially the end where Pepper has to keep her eyes shut, very creepy. I can’t wait to see how Tony’s new armour looks next issue, and to see how he contributes to The Serpent’s defeat.
