That said, I'll take about any old school Iron Man armor over the more manga robot-looking armors any day of the week. The cleaner-looking the armors look the better.

The Thighron Man pic with all the absurdly exaggerated but pointless musculature built into the armor looks ridiculous in that hyper-modern "photorealism" style, technical skills aside. Granov's style is not for everyone regardless of skill, but isn't the most versatile as that drawing shows IMO.

Yeah I can appreciate that I just think it's kinda absurd to put in him in the same category as Liefield

Agreed. My favourites are the original Gold, the first Red/Gold, Silver Centurion and the armour from Heroes Return that Sean Chen drew.
Hate, hate, hate the armour that 'grew' around him. It's 'Iron Man' not 'Nanobyte Man' or 'Liquid Smart-Metal Man'. Having said that I don't expect the suits are actually supposed to be made of iron....
Glad to see the current series has gone back to IM actually suiting-up.

If Bendis is doing a Marvel Event, I just expect Iron Man to downgrade his armor. It's sad because I don't think he should ever go back to the Classic suit (but I'll take a Silver Centurion appearance any day).
