I think he's being attacked by rats controlled by the Pied Piper.

who, on Earth 2, will be made of pie.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Now that makes me laugh.
I seriously haven't seen much positive about this. And outside the titles with the least changes (ie Bat titles, GL titles, Animal Man and Swamp Thing) I'm hearing mixed at best, open hostility at worst, for the new DC.
Sales are really starting to drop off, creators can't be bothered to stay longer than a few issues.
I think the JL reboot, like it or not, was well planned. The rest? Throwing poop at the wall and seeing what sticks.
And even some of the stuff that does stick, stinks!

Actually DC sales are stabilizing. January rose from where it was in Nov and Dec.
Also, DC had planned from the start to change title/story directions, and likely creative teams, starting with #6 & #7 issues.

DC won't do anything in Earth 2 that is like the previous incarnations or pre-Flashpoint DC. If they did, it would seem like they don't have faith in the direction they are taking. So now, we get a Jay Garrick that is young and looks like Mento from Doom Patrol.

One of things that makes me ticked off at DC, is this is something I wanted to see a world in the Dc Multiverse. A world where ALL of the original characters started up now. Instead we get this mixed pot of ... two.

That makes no sense to me. I prefer writers in for the long term. And sales might be stabilizing for the top books but a lot of others seem destined for the chopping block. Big names too.

Which makes things twice as stupid, since it makes the Nu52 look even look more like "crash TV" than it already does.

So I guess the premise of the new Earth 2 is that the WWII era heroes are now all young again and in their own universe like it was before the Crisis. Or something.

I don't know. The more DC reveals about their new universe, the less and less the continuity of it all makes any sense.

As far as the costume goes, I dunno. It's hard to judge it when he's angled forward and covered in rats.

The new continuity make perfect sense. There were no (public or known) super-heroes before 5 years ago. The Hero Age starts with the young Action Comics Superman.

Except for Earth 2 it makes no sense. Why do the EXACT same thing with a separate universe? Ohhhh look Batman and Superman and more bad ass!!! Thats the only real difference from what I'm seeing. They made Jay look just awful, its still better then using Barry though.

We don't know enough about the new Earth-2 to even know yet that it's "the exact same thing". Except for the 5-year jumping on point, DC has repeatedly said that this Earth is quite different than the pre-COIE Earth-2 and the current DCnU Earth. Isn't that the whole point of parallel Earth stories ?
