In All-Star Western's current storyline, Jonah Hex has been thrown forward in time into the present day of the DCU. The story hasn't been bad, but it's made it clear that, personally speaking, I think the character works best in a wild west setting.

I thought I'd throw this poll out to see if I'm alone in this thought. I've included the "future" option to reflect his post-apocalyptic series from the 80s.

I prefer his 1992 Grunge period.

I've not read any of the present series, but only the stuff that was out back in the 70s.... yes I was a kid then and read some. Never liked the 80s future version so the present bit does nothing for me. I also read and greatly enjoyed the two Tim Truman drawn Vertigo minis of Jonah Hex.

I don't think the character works well in some other time period.

I think the present version of him is pretty badass and amusing, but I wouldn't want to see it as a permanent thing.

Big fan of Jonah and I'm enjoying the hell out of his present day stuff.

But - he has to go back someday (but not yet).

I prefer if he goes back to his own time period but not opposed to him going to other times for good storytelling.

While I want him to return at some point - he can't go until he has a run in with Harvey Dent!
