I never should've made the switch from trades to singles. I bet reading the trade felt like an awesome kick to the stomach. The single issues with their delays and 5 minute reading times are killing me.

reading it in trades does have a pretty powerful impact, and I can see what your saying. The down side on this end is that I have to avoid spoilers (or threads completely), and have to wait for what seems like an eterinity for the next trade to come out.

Still, it's probably worth it.

I couldn't see reading this series in single issue. The trades are so freaking epic. I don't think I could deal with the suspense.

It reads fantastically in trades, but now that i've caught up i'm reading dl'd singles as they appear and just gonna buy the trades when they come out.

I recently re-read the whole thing from the start, and when you get to 48, man it nearly kills you... It's like losing friends.

When this came out I read it on the train home from work. When I got home I just wanted to take a shower and then sit quietly for a while. It was just brutal.

I started reading it right before vol 6 came out in trade and I have consistently found myself asking, how much worse could things possibly get for these people.

That has to be a turning point right there, there is no way things could possibly go downhill from there, I really don't think I can handle it.

I refuse to say or think that because I don't want to curse Rick. :(

I don't think anyone is safe in this book at this point. Not even Rick.

After what Kirkman pulled in #48, I honestly wouldn't put it past him to kill Rick off and introduce a new hero. Maybe even fast forward the book 7 or 8 years, and have a teenaged Carl as the new hero.

I really can't see where else it's going, maybe have them head north or something? The fast forward makes sense.
