My point is about Giffen, not the Legion.

SW6 was the proof of how big a mistake FYG was. Jumping ahead 5 years just wasn't something you could walk back from without seriously screwing things up. Which is sadly what happened.

Somewhere around the 1993, Levitz and DC forgot exactly what made the team great. It was that is was a team of young heroes in an optimistic future. When Levitz started aging characters beyond the early 20's, things started going downhill.
