Deadpool #7 was actually funny to me.

I guess the presidents story wasn't as funny to me because I didn't have half this stuff drilled through my head in school.

Avenging Spider-Man Annual #1 - Rob Williams's letter at the end showed a strong love for Spider-Man, but that love didn't translate into a story that was more than "by-the-numbers".
Fear Itself: Monkey King - Nothing to write home about, but it's a good time-waster.
Sentry: Fallen Sun - Couldn't finish. Recent readings of Paul Jenkins's work usually ends up with me quitting from boredom.
Thor: Wolves of the North - "Good enough".
What If one-shots (with the exception of the Deadpool/Venom issue) - Decent to bland opening material with horrible backup comics.

Civil War: War Crimes
A really nice surprise. Well written and pretty nice to look at. Subtract a point or two for having to stretch your ability to believe that Wilson Fisk and Tony Stark have a kinda/sorta forced past connection, but I'd never read this one. All in all, I'd say:

Story: 7
Art: 8
Overall: Round it up to an 8

Glad to hear it's not just me who isn't digging Bendis' X-Men. With all of the praise our fellow Outhousers are giving it, I thought I was missing something.

You're right, chap. We're both crazy. Maybe--to make us come to our senses--you should kidnap 15 year-old Keb and me from the past. They can come to the future and follow a repetitive pattern of meeting our modern day friends and colleagues, shocking said friends and colleagues with their presence, maybe fighting said friends and colleagues, and then shrugging their shoulders and moving onto the next highly similar confrontation. At least we wouldn't have to pay $4 an issue for that!

:)

I actually liked the first issue. It was after issue 6--where the cycle I discussed above went through its 7th or 8th iteration--that I gave up.

It just let me wanting too much. Most Bendis comics do that for me because he tends to break it up by a 2:1 ratio of little to packed issues.
